A week in the summer lives of the Maddens...
Our annual camping trip with the Godleys was foiled by wildfires, so we made the best of it by renting a cabin on the continental divide. We hiked our stuff in a mile, slept in a solar-powered cabin, made mischief, and had a grand old time.
We love a fort!
A real tipi, and we made a friend with a dog that lived on the property.
All three kids swam in swim team prelims. Only the top 16 kids or relays in the league make it in each event. Liam and Maggie both qualified in their freestyle relays. Declan's free relay unfortunately DQ'd with a false start. Luckily he wasn't too bummed at not having to swim one more time. ;)
We had a fun night with Brian and Jess seeing the Mavericks at the Botanic Gardens!
And we took in our first family Rockies game!
Back on the home front, our swim team has a tradition the day before championships: root beer floats and mohawks!
Summer hair, don't care. But Dad did, and made him promise to lose the mohawk after the World Cup final.
After great swims at champs, it was time to partay at the banquet!
Our long time babysitter Molly is also a swimming teammate! And she's about to be Notre Dame Class of 2022!
We rounded out a busy week with a World Cup final watch party at Uncle Patrick's. Vive la France!
Channeling Uncle Patrick with the buzz.
