Arches

We were supposed to visit Nana in Hilton Head over Spring Break, and Dad was headed to Costa Rica with a bunch of high schoolers, and then COVID-19 hit. It's funny, to think of our uncertainty then, now writing two months after the fact. Should we go to HH or not? We can't believe Costa Rica is cancelled! What should we do?!?! Then they cancelled school the Friday before Spring Break, and we cancelled our flight to HH, but instead decided to pack the car and drive to Phoenix. We got stuck in terrible traffic on I-70, and stayed in a hotel in Grand Junction which now feels like a luxury. We got up and got on the road the next am, Johnny got a speeding ticket. We drive to Arches, which is beautiful, explored a bit, got back on the road, and Johnny got another speeding ticket. We eventually made it into AZ - no tickets in that state - and to the Feuers'! The kids were awesome in the car. We took turns giving everyone an hour of their choice in music, we limited screen time to an hour on the whole trip. Looking back, it was magical.

Some of us even braved the pool at our hotel in Grand Junction, which now seems somewhat ludicrous.
We made it to Arches! It was so beautiful.

Back in the car, an intense game of Uno.
And then we got punchy, going shirtless,
really ready to get to our cousins'!
