Double Digits

Our oldest turned 10! Ok. So officially he turned 10 in the hospital back in May, but no kid should have to celebrate double digits in the hospital, so we let him have a do-over. We hosted 10 of Liam's buddies for a pool party-BBQ-lateover. They had so much fun at the pool swimming and playing whiffle ball. We cooked a ton of burgers, Liam’s favorite food (and we were still trying to kick post-hospital anemia). We closed the pool and then headed home for The Sandlot and cake.

We are so proud of our 10-year-old. When he was in the hospital, doctors and nurses would come in and tell us that they had heard that he was the most polite kid in the whole hospital and they just had to meet him. Even when he was writhing in pain and struggling to breathe, he was unfailingly polite. He is our responsible, hard-working, smart, intense oldest child. We are so happy to have him healthy, and we are lucky to be his parents. We love you, Liam.
