Birthdays

Our birthday palooza week has wrapped up, and we packed in as much fun as we could.

What to say about our Dec. He always makes us smile. He's my guy that picks 20 dandelions for me "because I love you so much, Mom." We feel like he's really grown up in the past year and is definitely ready to start kindergarten. He is still his own person - he likes what he likes and doesn't care what anyone else thinks - and we love that about him. He is also still hilarious, peppering his speech with lost of qualifiers - actually, seriously?!, etc. These days he still loves Star Wars "infinity percent" but he's also into deep sea creatures and reptiles too. He's kind of friends with everybody in his class, but mainly likes to do his own thing, especially if that means building set ups, playing ships or reading books. He loved basketball this past winter and is into soccer this spring. We'll take it. He's very much our middle child - he gets along equally well with Liam and Maggie, but he definitely looks up to his big brother. They have a special bond, evidenced by how much we find them sleeping in each other's beds! We love you, sweet Declan. Happy 5th!

It's hard to believe that our youngest child is 3! Maggie is 3 going on about 8. She loves both her friends at school and hanging with the big kids. She's certainly a piece of work, and her funny little personality is always making us laugh these days. She's also pushing her boundaries more, and we are certainly going to have our hands full with the teenage version of this child, but we love her go-getter personality. There's definitely a tomboy underneath those ballet costumes, but she sure does love her "twirly skirts." She is into Gunnison the sea lion, Wizard of Oz, Paw Patrol, and Taylor Swift (she basically knows the words to the whole 1989 album). She tries very hard not to love our dog, Rosie, to death. She's not in any activities yet, but boy does she wish she was. She laces up her soccer cleats for the boys' practices and games just in case she's needed. She'll get her call-up in no time. Good thing she already has her team named (the Rainbow Butterflies). We love you, Maggie!

The celebration started at Babcia and Grandpa's!

We took a quick break to cheer on the Irish!

 Look who's 5!

In between the birthdays, we had a blizzard! And 2 days snow days off from school!

And Liam lost a top tooth!
Then it was Maggie's turn. Our Dorothy is 3!

She wanted donuts for dinner. Almost. Dessert.
Party time!
Maggie wanted a Wizard of Oz Cake, with only Dorothy and Glinda, NO bad witch.
And Dec wanted Star Wars, obviously.

Gymnastics party at DU!

Happy birthday, you two!
