An excuse to use a Pearl Jam song as a blog title, or June fun in Colorado? Both!
The hail storm started slowly but then was thoroughly plummeting down.
There was even a rainbow!
The brave Weinsteins ran across the street to watch with our kids. We put out a bucket to make XL dippin' dots. ;)
Don't miss Dec spitting out the hail balls he was eating into the bush at the end of the video.
Mom and the kids went on another hiking adventure, this time to Red Rocks. We climbed the Red Rocks trail and then drove over to the amphitheater for lunch. Such a fun outing!
Another game of "can you spot the deer?"
These two are awesome hikers!
And adorable brothers too. When we headed back down the trail, Declan started to slip a bit, and Liam would rush over to help him up. Declan would give Liam a thank you hug on the leg after every helping hand. Soon enough, Liam started "falling" so Declan would have the opportunity to help him. He would "slip" and Declan would come running - "don't worry Liam, I will help you up," and Liam dutifully waited, allowed Declan to come to his aid, and would give him a thank you hug in return. Be still, my heart!
We made it to the top! Lollipops for all! Side note: pantless Maggie? Yep. We turned off the highway and she barfed everywhere. We decided it was either motion sickness or she drank too much out of Liam's water bottle. After taking a vote, we decided she was fine and we should continue with our plans. So glad we did! No one can see her legs when she's in the backpack anyway!
What a beautiful view of Red Rocks!
These strong guys crushed it!
Then they got to play around at the amphitheater and imitate all of the people working out.
Yep, I was that mom with a toddler in a diaper and a hoodie running around Red Rocks. Oh well. We made her go back in the pack for the picture.
Dad and the boys went on a very fun outing to the Rockies game. I dropped them off in a downpour, but it cleared and they ended up having a grand time.
Treat #! McD's smoothie
The D is housing treat #2: Dippin Dots
Rockies fans!
Uncle Daniel came to visit!
Ahh, the ways we keep a toddler occupied. Opening and closing.
We are pet sitting the Weinstein's hamster, Bean. It's been a rocky start so far. I woke up the first morning to find that the boys had decided to feed him by dumping food all over his crate. Between Declan's banging on his crate and Maggie's high-pitched squealing every time she sees him, this hamster is going to be on edge every waking second. Then we put him in his exercise ball, and this happens:
Dear Bean, please don't get loose in our house, and please don't die on our watch. Love, The Maddens
