Cinco!

Liam is 5!  Ahhh! How did that happen?!  Sometimes it feels like those 5 years have flown by, and other times we can't even imagine life BC (before children - the sleep! the time on our hands!), but it's really hard to imagine life without our Liam.  He has turned out to be such a kind, enthusiastic, loving, and fun boy.  At school his teachers tell us that he is such a good friend, inclusive and kind, and we couldn't be prouder.  We're sure that kindness helps when he then tackles his friends on the playground ;)  He takes his role of big brother seriously, from carrying Maggie down the stairs (yikes) to putting up with Declan's 50 "halftimes" when they "wrestle-fight,"  and even if he's rolling his eyes at his brother's lack of sports knowledge, he's wearing a huge grin.  He has always been such an enthusiastic boy, eager to please and happy to help.  He loves sports as much as ever, is still very into Legos and really into Star Wars these days, with a bit of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, super heroes, and science experiments mixed in.  He was allowed to chew gum for the first time when he turned 5, and to say that he likes it is an understatement.  Lots and lots of talk about flavors, the order in which various flavors will be chewed, chewing longevity, etc.  Some "fun gum" from Aunt Katie has been an extra special treat.  So far 5 is very, very fun.  We love you, Liam!

Opening presents enthusiastically, of course.

A trip to Science and Nature on his birthday!
Roar!
The wing span of a 5-year-old.
T-Rex
They're both taller than a compsognathus!
Love the view of Denver from the museum!

We had Liam's party at Monkey Bizness, our first ever outside of the home, and it sure was a blast.  25 kids - old friends, neighbors, school friends, and the soccer Cheetahs combined to make a very fun party, and the kids were so great.
Liam wanted Broncos cupcakes, obviously.

Cupcake time!

This ones loves those applesauce packs.
Remember when the birthday boy asked Santa to bring him strawberry cake mix? Well here it is in cupcake form!

Lots and lots of fun stuff - Lego sets to last us all summer!
