Hi, everyone! John here as the guest blogger! I was lucky to spend the week in Iceland with my incredible mom,and here are some shots of our trip together! She does so much for our family, and we had a great time seeing the sights in this unique county!
We started in Reykjavik, and after a long flight, got right to sight seeing!
We saw some incredible sights, and Iceland brought back memories of our family trip to Ireland years ago. Here's a shot of sheep in honor of Andy who looked all over for a good shot of a sheep in the road!
Geysers and huge rivers punctuated this very different landscape. We climbed high to get this one! Mom was always up for it, so active and energetic to see all that Iceland had to offer!
This was a highlight of our trip for sure. We were able to walk behind this huge waterfall, and climb though caves to see another.
The black, volcanic sand beaches were a sight, and we even took some black sand home for dad. The coastline was so unique, and we were able to see so much of it.
Glacier time! Mom and I strapped on our crampons and hiked up a glacier! We learned quite a bit about climate change, and saw first hand what happens as they retreat. What an experience. Mom did a great job looking down fissures and jumping over cracks in the ice. So cool!
We didn't jump this one. That's way too big!
I caught an Iceland National Team soccer game. The crowd was great, and the Icelandic cheer was so cool to see in person.
Just your average, run of the mill glacier inside an active volcano.
This is one of my favorite pictures of this trip. My mom is such a light for our family! What an adventurer!
This one too. Being a bad ass!
We did the Blue Lagoon, of course. What an experience!
