Liam's birthday fell on a Friday. At the JCC, the whole school gets together on Fridays for Shabbat Sing. The singing is already a favorite time of Liam's but on his birthday it was even more special.
First, his teachers and friends made him a special birthday crown.
Liam's sour mood was quickly lifted by a post-school trip to Aunt Peggy's to see Peggy and a visiting cousin Sean, which involved some fun playground time and playing soccer with Sean. Uncle Pete shared a birthday with Liam. It is a special connection between them, so we were happy to be able to spend time with Aunt Peggy that day and the Maddens toasted Uncle Pete that night. We miss him.
Back at home, the happy mood continued, due to the presence of Dad and presents.
Another cupcake for the birthday boy...
We had a birthday party for Liam on Saturday. The theme was Liam's favorite thing - sports, sports, sports! Like father like son. The cold, rainy, day drove us inside, but all of the kiddos had fun and adults got some amusement watching them play. Declan did not exactly enjoy the day, so mom doesn't have too many pictures to show for the party. Thanks to everyone who celebrated with us!
Mom and her baker's assistant whipped up some football, basketball, soccer ball, tennis ball, and baseball cakes. Geez mom, no bowling ball or hockey puck?
We also have a few shots of us hanging out.
Who's the big boy on Liam's chair? Oh. It's Declan, aka Mr. Amazing.
